Signs from above
20 January 2025
I received this message from my sister-in-law over a week ago and well, Jack never ceases to amaze me.
Mel – “I’ve been meaning to message you all day. This morning, I was hanging washing out and Mikayla was scooting around on her scooter. She yells out Mum, Jack’s here, I said awesome. She starts saying hello and then said something else. It was a dragonfly in our backyard
”

Me – “Oh that’s beautiful
I love how they talk about him and know he’s still with them x”

A week later, all the way from Collie to the Gold Coast, I received this beautiful message
Mel – “Have to send you this photo from Mikayla. Jack came with us

It was the photo below ~ a dragonfly on the curtain in their Hotel room

I replied “Tell Sis, Jack loves the Gold Coast. You wouldn’t believe it; I did my walk out near Jack’s tree this morning and I asked him to send me a dragonfly today to let me know he’s here. And there’s my sign
”

Whether you believe in signs from above or not, moments like these melt my heart. My nieces and nephews were so young when Jack died, but through the memories and stories we share with them, they’ve come to know him more and more as they’ve grown up. I love how they talk about him as if he’s still right here with us, because we all know he is, we just can’t see him.
When people ask if I receive many signs from Jack, my answer is always the same: he’s a frequent flyer. His presence is everywhere, and that brings me so much comfort.
