Hope
30 September 2024
For anyone walking through grief, I know all too well how life can feel overwhelmingly dark and unbearable.
The weight of loss, especially when it’s sudden, leaves us with an ache and pain so unbearable, we don’t know how we are going to live and breathe again. How can we, when our whole world has been shattered into a million pieces?
For me, it felt impossible.
In my most deepest and darkest moments, I didn’t think I’d make it to the next minute of my life…… the weight of losing Jack was just too much to carry. But here I am 7.5 years later, still breathing.
I’m here to remind you that there is always hope even when it doesn’t feel like it
Hope doesn’t take the pain away. The pain will forever be a part of you, you will simply learn how to carry it. Your grief will ebb and flow, but hope will give you a glimmer of light in the darkness, a reminder that you are still here, still breathing, still surrounded by people who love you. It means you don’t have to face your pain alone.
Sometimes hope is found in the smallest things—a kind word, a memory that makes you smile, sharing your journey with someone who has experienced a similar loss and it can even be found in a quiet moment of peace.
To all the families who are grieving, please know you’re not walking this journey alone. There are hearts, just like mine and yours, that are also navigating this path, holding on to hope, even when it feels so far away. Together, we can find strength, even in the most difficult of days.
